The circulating air envelops the hot dog and cooks the inside to a delicate, juicy perfection, creating a perfect texture on the outside. They taste better than grilled, boiled or even cooked over an open flame. They are so delicious!

Now you don't have to wait for summer to have the perfect hot dog. Whatever the season, you can have a hot dog meal served right in your air fryer. If you put the bun with the hot dog in the air fryer at the end, the bun will be warmed up and roasted perfectly without dirtying another pan or burning it in the toaster.   • Pastries: For a toasted bun, add your hot dogs to your bun for the last 2 minutes of cooking, if desired. Top with your favorite toppings!

For the first batch of hot dogs, check to see how they are doing after 6 minutes. Some air fryers cook faster, hotter, slower, or at a lower temperature. Cook the hot dogs to your desired degree of doneness. Use my times as a guide.

  • Slice or prick hot dogs: No, you don't have to prick or slice your hot dogs before air frying them. They won't explode on you. You can give them diagonal slots if you want to give them a grilled look, but this is not required.
  • Quality hot dog: The better the quality of the hot dog, the better the taste and flavor. One of the great things about hot dogs is how cheap they are. You can make a great dinner on a budget and it will taste amazing.
  • No oil required: You don't need to pre-oil your air fryer basket or spray the hot dogs with oil.
  • Bun: Air frying the bun is a must. It creates the perfect soft bun on the inside and a light, crispy crunch on the outside.
